TEC diving seminar

For my Dallas readers, if you ever wondered what TEC diving involves, Blue Dolphin Scuba is offering an introductory 'TEC' seminar this evening at 6:30 at their Plano location. The seminar will cover information about mixed gases, cave diving, as well as Extended Range and Decompression diving. Divers will also find out how big their purses (or wallets) need to be for TEC gear.

If you're in town...check it out!

Hi,

I'm guessing that your a local to Texas diving? I'm moving to Houston soon, and was wondering if you had any recommendations for which dive boats are the best? Also, are there any shore diving options in the gulf?

I've gotten spoiled by the cheap (but cold) diving in Cali.

Cam,
I live in Dallas, so I still have to travel a ways to get to some good diving...I have heard that the diving isn't so good near the coast off Galveston....BUT there are the Flower Gardens Sanctuary 110 miles...you have to take a liveaboard...there are boats that go from Freeport,TX and around that area...check with local dive shops who can help you book the trip...I have tried several times to go but it was cancelled each time due to 10ft. waves, and bad weather...the gulf is volatile...but I hear once you get there it is so worth it....if you do any diving in the area let me know what you think...maybe we can get some people together and meet up...I have friends in Houston so I could stay with them
